Completion of CO2-neutrality energy concept is nearing.

The transformation of Germany into a climate-neutral industrial nation represents a central structural challenge of our time.

Energy occupies a central place in Aurolia’s resource portfolio alongside our employees. In collaboration with a subsidiary of the Viessmann Group, we have launched a groundbreaking project. The goal of this project is to generate energy sustainably in the future and to reintegrate it into our coating process after use.

Various forms of energy such as heat, cold, and electricity are crucial. It became clear at the outset of the project that it is not only about the generation of energy but also about its sustainable preservation. This endeavor aligns with the first law of thermodynamics, which describes the principle of conservation of energy and states that the energy in a closed system remains constant in quantity during any process.

Approximately 80% of energy is lost through evaporation. This loss cannot be reduced by conventional extraction and insulation techniques. With Etanomics, the traditional design has been broken, resulting in extreme potential for energy conservation. This gives us a significant economic advantage.

Energy loss has not been significant in surface technology so far because until 2022, energy costs at approximately 3 cents per kWh accounted for only a maximum of 6% of the cost of goods sold. Since 2022, the proportion of energy costs has risen to well over 9% and will continue to increase. In addition, in Germany, due to the high proportion of renewable energy generation, we will be confronted with grid uncertainties due to peak loads.

We are taking on this challenge and aim to be the first surface finishing company to be fully operated with green energy. Our well-thought-out CO2 concept is now nearing completion. We are incredibly proud of this achievement.
